Acupuncture rarely causes pain, but sensation can be felt where a needle is inserted such as a dull ache, warmth, or tingling - these are all positive sensations.
-
A warm welcome! New clients often feel nervous and are not sure what to expect at a treatment which is natural. During the initial consultation most of the time will be spent getting to know you, discussing your individual case, medical history and treatment goals, followed by a short treatment. Follow up appointments will focus on any updates and treatment.
-
This varies from person to person and depends on factors such as your general health, how long you have been experiencing symptoms, what medication you take, your age etc.
I like to work with fertility clients, ideally for a minimum of 3 months, but I am happy to discuss cases on an individual basis.
For other conditions, a course of 6-10 treatments spread over a few weeks is usually recommended.

Acupuncture works well alongside current medical care. At no point will you be asked to stop any of your medicines or treatment. If you want to discuss your individual case, please get in touch.
-
I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council which may allow you to claim some or all of the cost of your treatment back from private insurers or cash plan policy. I cannot make a claim on your behalf, but can provide you with a receipt for treatment.

I do not offer home visits at this time. Only in exceptional circumstances by prior arrangement around embryo transfer for IVF clients.
The way I work
I am an acupuncturist trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which means I make my diagnosis and treatment plan using Eastern medicine theories.
What does this actually mean?
I take an in depth medical history and ask about:
Any diagnosed medical conditions
Any surgeries you have had
Family medical history
Nutrition and food intake
Sleep
Digestion
Stress levels
Emotional wellbeing
Asking lots of questions about all areas of your health and lifestyle allow me to treat you holistically and address the root cause of any systemic imbalances.
Alongside acupuncture I may use other therapies including moxibustion, cupping, massage and acupressure. I also look at your tongue and take your pulse (sounds strange I know!) but these all help me with my diagnosis and bespoke treatment plan.
How is my approach different?
I offer one to one support, your time in the clinic is fully dedicated to you
I support integrated healthcare, combining Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and evidence based approaches alongside any medical treatment you are currently having
I listen without judgment and support you in your choices
I am person centered and focus on what is important to you and your treatment goals
I see client work as a unique opportunity to work together to achieve the best possible outcomes
WHY WORK WITH ME?
Women, just like you, trust me to support their wellness.
Yes I’m an acupuncturist, but my work is about far more than just needles. I work on a one to one basis, my time is dedicated to you, your treatment and care. I spend time getting to know you, I listen to what’s important to you and how together, we can work towards your goals. It’s not just about what happens inside the treatment room, I spend time designing a bespoke treatment plan combining eastern medicine and evidence based research to optimise your health and wellbeing.
